Models Own: NEW Polish For Tans

I have a bit of a soft spot for models own. They were my first nail polish brand I fell in love with. And now there's a bottle shop in Birmingham its wreaking havoc on my bank balance...but it's soooo worth it!
I saw the new release for their Polish For Tans collection and couldn't decide which to buy...so went for all 5!
(FYI ... NONE of these swatches are done over a white base. I think a bright colour is kinda pointless if you have to put a white base on first.)
L-R: Cocktail Hour, Malibu Pink, Sarong Wrap, Beach Hut, Turquoise Sea
I was most excited to try the blue as I have been after one just like it the past couple of months. But first impressions are that they all look nice and are perfect for a summery manicure! Whilst I was swatching these I thought it was a perfect time to try out their stamping ability, so each accent nail is stamped using MoYou London Explorer 22. (This plate is very popular and sells out quickly!)

The new Polish For Tans in all their glory.
First up: Cocktail Hour. This is so bright it practically glows on my nails. This is 2 coats with no topcoat. This colour is gorgeous, and has a nice, even, easy coverage and was almost a 1 coater! For stamping it was perfect, picked up and transferred easily first time, and because of it's rich colour it is perfect for stamping.
Cocktail Hour
Next Up: Malibu Pink. The name certainly matches the polish! It's a perfect barbie/Malibu pink which is great for summer. Again this is 2 coats, no top coat and stamps perfectly first time.
Malibu Pink
Next Up: Sarong Wrap. I'm not normally a yellow person so was curious more than anything of how this suited me, but especially how it stamped as that's normally the only way I use yellows other than the odd gradient. This exceeded my expectations. I used 3 coats, again without a top coat, and it stamped perfectly over white.
Sarong Wrap
Next Up: Beach Hut. Oranges are like yellows for me, i have them in my collection but only use them as a small part of the overall manicure. This orange is very similar to an old Models Own I have from their HedKandi collection but this one is much better pigmented. This is 2 coats without top coat and again stamping was perfect first time.
Beach Hut
And now the one I was looking forward to the most: Turquoise Sea. How gorgeous is this colour? It's not turquoise as the name suggests, but it is gorgeous. Again I used 2 coats, no top coat, and it stamped perfectly.
Turquoise Sea
My Impression:
This collection is amazing. Each colour is rich without being thick, they each give good, even coverage AND they stamp! What more could a girl want from a collection? I'll definitely be playing with these a bit more, try watermarble and stamping over darker colours.
I'd say if you wanted to try one or two from the collection definitely try Turquoise Sea and Malibu Pink.

You can buy this collection direct from the Models Own website, or visit their bottle stores in Bullring Birmingham, St David's Shopping Centre Cardiff, Westfield London, BluewaterBrent Cross Shopping CentreWestfield StratfordMeadowhall (Sheffield), White Rose Shopping Centre (Leeds), Metrocentre (Newcastle) and internationally in Tokyo, Thailand, Taiwan, Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar and throughout the UAE.

Review: Burberry Kisses Lipstick

Anyone who knows me knows I have a love for lipsticks. My favourite brand has to be MAC but when I saw Burberry had a new line of cosmetics I thought I had to give them a try.

I chose to start with a lipstick before possibly trying more from their range. I bought Burberry Kisses "Pomegranate Pink" from Debenhams.com at £25

The packaging has a very luxurious feel to it and it has an unconventional lid to the lipstick. It's a magnetic close! I thought this wouldn't be safe in a handbag so I did a little test. Held the tube at one end and shook hard, didn't budge, held it by the other end and did the same. The magnetic close only lets the lid securely close in one way so if it doesn't feel secure you can twist the lid until it secures properly by the magnets.

I swatched it on the back of my hand and it has a very good pigment and creamy feel to it. It's not quite matte and it's not quite creamy/satin but its non drying and smells nice (which I find important in a lipstick!)

I decided that I would wear it for work one day to see how it lasted.
(This was after reapplication after breakfast)
I had to reapply after breakfast as you'd expect but it was very easily done. There wasn't muchtransference onto my drink either which is a big plus for me.

After 2 hours wear and no touch ups.

4 hours at work.

Overall I'm very pleased with this lipstick and can't wait to try more from their range!

Druzy Dreams

I've been secretly stalking Druzy Dreams website for weeks filling up my cart, deciding what to order. I finally bit the bullet and ordered some gorgeous jewellery!
All of it is so cutely wrapped up neatly and comes in the cutest little bubble bag. (I apologise now for how many times I will say cute)
😍 ok I'll admit I changed what I was going to order so many times I forgot what was actually coming! But they're all so gorgeous I can't choose my favourite.
I saw this in the clearance section. Silver Druzy Necklace £8 it's bigger than I thought it was going to be because of the price but I'm glad it is!!
Sample sale Rose Droplet Long Necklace £10. I'm a sucker for Rose Quartz so I just had to get this one!
Starry Night and Moonchild Silver Tone rings, £5 each. I love stars and the moon so this was fitting for me!
I have chubby fingers so was worried if they'd fit but I got size 6.5 and they fit on my pinky AND above my knuckles!
I also spied this in the clearance section, Rainbow Quartz Bullet Long Necklace for £8
And this *i believe* was a free gift. Definitely my style!!
From start to finish it was easy transition. Ordered on my mobile. Received order confirmation immediately, and notification of shipping!
DEFINITELY ordering again and highly reccomend Druzy Dreams to everyone!!

New Skincare Products!

Little post today, about skincare.

I have sensitive skin which makes buying things difficult. Add into this that my skin flips between being dry one month to oily the next. It's very frustrating!
I've bought a few things to try as I've heard great things about them. Lately my skin has been so dry it's been a nightmare for my make up and by lunch time my foundation is patchy. So I was in Tesco earlier and I saw neutrogena products were on sale so decided to try the pink grapefruit face washes.
First impressions they smell amazing and as strange as it sounds my skin feels cleaner and my pores less blocked!

And there's this range Tesco has (I use the make up remover wipes from this range already) and decided to try the day and night cream from this also.
First Impressions cute packaging, although I wish the day and night creams had slightly different packaging! The wipes have a pleasant smell but the creams not so much!

I used my neutrogena scrub and day cream at lunch time. Applied my make up and a good 6 hours later no patchiness!
I'll be using the facial soap in a minute and my night cream and see how my skin is in the morning.

I also bought some micellar water as I found it got to take my eye make up off easily and had ran out of my old one!

I'm hoping to do an update in about a week to see how my skin has improved!

MUA Liquid Lipsticks

Little while ago I made an order on MUA Cosmetics website for some of their Liquid Lipsticks. I've always been tempted by Lime Crime but heard some bad things about the company's shipping and some of the bad things about their CEO so have always been wary about ordering. Then the news came out about credit card information being compromised and that sealed the deal. After looking on several different lipstick related instagrams and there were a few dupes on the MUA site!

L-R Tranquility, Halcyon, Tranquility, Chichi, Criminal & Kooky

These are the 5 I bought and I have to say my first impressions are really good! The packaging is cute on the Matte Luxe and very similar in style to the Lime Crime Velvetines.
Did a quick swatch of them all and they ALL had great colour pay off, dried nicely without caking or flaking and stayed really well!

They apply in a very similar way to a lip gloss but have a finish of lipstick. The coral is velvet finish and the others are matte.
They cost £3 a tube and will definitely be wearing these a lot!

Love Louboutin

It was my birthday this month so I decided to treat myself to two gorgeous polishes by Christian Louboutin. These are a real treat as they come with a £36 price tag. EACH. I have now had a chance to use both and I have to say I will buy more. The ones I chose were Rouge and Wherever but there's a few others that look gorgeous.
FORMULA: the polishes are creamy and full coverage without being thick or gloopy. The navy was a one coat wonder and I was being very picky about slight visible nail line with the red so put 2 coats on.

WEAR: I had the polish on for around 3-4 days without chipping or peeling. Which in all honesty is amazing for me as sometimes it doesn't even last a day!
RECOMMEND? Hell yes! I bought them as a birthday treat from some extra money I had and they're worth every penny.
I purchased the Rouge from Harvey Nichols and collected from my local branch. The Wherever I ordered in to my local Selfridges; again for click and collect. They retail for £36 per 13ml bottle and come with a little display box too.
What are your views on these polishes?

Little Things Make A Big Difference

Little post today! I tried something new with my eyebrows and just had to share it. I've been using the same product for about a month now and love it; MAC Cosmetics ProLongwear Brow Set. This product is a gel that helps groom your brows into shape with the help of a mini spooley and also adds a little colour, I bought mine in Quite Brunette.

So, all I did was style my brows as normal, but took it in towards the middle a little more and added some shape to the inner area too. Normally I go for the enhanced but still quite natural look but love the drama that came with this new style and can see me trying it more often for sure.

Top picture is the new style I tried today. Bottom is the style I have done for months now. Small change but big improvement in my opinion.
